Why does one yahoo email say ‘bulk’ and one says ‘spam’?
Posted In: Spam & Bulk Mail by admin
I have 2 Yahoo accounts and email addresses. They seemed to work the same way, but for no reason, one suddenly looks different and says ‘spam’ on the left side, instead of ‘bulk’ like it had done before. The font arrangement is a little different too. It is still the Classic Yahoo, and I have not changed any options on either of the addresses. Does anyone know why this would happen, and what is the difference between ‘spam’ and ‘bulk’?
Spam = Bulk = Junk
all one and same..
Yahoo is slowly upgrading all the Classic email. It is not all at the same time. You can see all the changes listed here:
Bulk and spam are exactly the same folders. Just a different name.

Some email addresses have been updated and some haven’t. Give it time and your other email address will be updated – mine was.
The differences between “spam” and “bulk”? Well, the definition is basically the same, but the folders act completely differently. With the update the spam folder deletes all emails left in there after a period of time, which cannot be extended past one month of time. In addition, if you delete an email from the “spam” folder it is permanently deleted and not sent to your trash folder AND you will get a popup (!!!) each.and.every.time you delete it.
In addition, if you mark an email as spam it is forwarded to your “spam” file where you have to go in and delete it (and deal with the popup).
This is the new upgrade they did. Look on your email page and it will say “What’s New” click on it and it will show you all the changes they made. Not all accounts have been switched yet. They are doing it in stages. I do not like it I really would like to have the old yahoo classic back. I tried to switch back and have not found a way to switch back. I tried clicking on Mail Classic and nothing happened. The OPT out button does not bring the old one back either. Hope this helps!!!
